Opinion: the Sad Spread of Intolerance

I am currently vacationing in Cape Cod, formerly a bastion of tolerance towards Simians. Its broad beaches, picturesque villages and numerous well-stocked bars drew in monkeys from all over the country, and the proximity to Boston meant that monkeys sleeping off the one-day flu in public places did not seem out of place.

Sadly the type of anti-monkey hysteria that has taken hold on parts of New Jersey now has spoiled the ambiance of this former vacation hotspot. As an example, this poster was prominently displayed at multiple bars in the Mashpee area today.

Only a united response from humans, Simians and other drinkers in boycotting these establishments will bring them to their senses.

Oh the shame. The Shame! Unacceptable. Intolerable. What is this state/country coming to? How is it possible that Simians are even allowed within our borders?

Are Simians not protected under civil rights legislation? How long do monkeys have to suffer under these unjust conditions?
